Sheriton Revival Collection
Thomas Sheraton was a famous English cabinetmaker, (1750-1806) who worked with solid mahogany with the finest hand marquetry inlay of satin and other exotic woods. British Victorian and Edwardian craftsmen 'revived' and extensively copied his style from the 1850's to 1920's.
At Pieces of the Past we have the finest collection of 'Sheraton' revival furniture in the whole of western Canada. All solid Honduras and Cuban mahogany, hand-built with the finest intricate marquetry inlay and hand-cut dovetail joinery.
We presently have a significant selection of Sheriton Revival wardrobes, bevelled mirror dressing tables and chests of drawers.
Should a person be lucky enough to find a skilled enough old-school cabinetmaker to construct such a piece of furniture today, (and lucky enough to find the mahogany), they could reasonably expect to pay ten times the price of these original antiques.
