Part VIII - What Does Electrolysis Cost:

Average cost of Electrolysis in Alberta.
We know you’d probably love a feature where you could just fill in a form and find out what it would cost for your electrolysis hair removal treatments. We’d certainly love to offer that, but while technology has advanced, nature hasn’t.

There are really too many variables to consider, variables that are unique to you and your needs. A human touch and considerable experience are needed to provide you with a proper assessment, so you’ll need to make an appointment for a consultation with a professional electrologist to get to the numbers that apply to you.

The total cost of treatment will be based on how many hours you will require treatment for. Since electrolysis is a pay as you go service, that cost will be spread out over the length of time it takes to complete treatment. Treatment times vary between a few months to well over a year. How much time it takes will depend on a variety of factors including your age, the area you want treated (a woman’s chin will require significantly less investment than a man’s back), and the type of equipment and process used.

The hourly charge for treatment will depend on the electrologist you choose, generally ranging from $65 to $100.

Price is not always an indicator of quality or experience. For example, a new electrologist paying higher rents in an urban location is likely to have higher prices than an experienced one in a smaller town or suburban location. That is why it is so important to ask questions to determine if an electrologist is the right fit for you.

To ensure a level of skill and professionalism that you can count on, search our directory for an ESA member in your area. If you don’t live in Alberta, you can find links to other electrolysis associations in the footer area of the page.
